Day 2 (B, L, D)

Date : 06/12/2019

Today, rise early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the wonderful ruins of Angkor Wat. Watch the play of light on the stones and sculptures and discover this mighty temple at dawn, regarded by many as the quintessential Angkor experience. Get the best version of Angkor Wat by catching the sun rising behind the five towers of Angkor Wat with the beautiful colors of sunrise reflecting on the pond before walking around corridors, and discovering areas inside the temple of Angkor Wat where you can capture unique photographs. Constructed under the reign of Suryavarman II (1113-1150), the temple’s greatest sculptural treasure is its 1 mile long bas-relief that wraps around the walls of the outer gallery along with the 2000 figures of Khmer Devas and Apsara dancers decorating the temple, and the construction is thought to have taken around thirty years of intensive labour. Enjoy your packed breakfast from the hotel while en-route to discover the amazing jungle-entwined Ta Prohm Temple, also known the “Kingdom of the Trees” or “Tomb Raider” Temple. It has been featured in several Hollywood movies such as Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones and Two Brothers. The group will also make a stop at Srah Srang “The Royal Bath” for some photos before lunch. Lunch at a local restaurant (Family set menu). This afternoon continue to explore the ancient fortified city of Angkor Thom, built in the 10th century by the greatest of the Khmer rulers, King Jayavarman VII (1181 - 1201). With a population in excess of one million inhabitants, Angkor Thom covered an area of 10 square kilometres and was larger than any city in Europe at the time. The city was protected by a wall eight meters (26 feet) in height and surrounded by a deep moat (said to be inhabited by fierce crocodiles) 100 meters in width. Your first stop is at the South Gate of Angkor Thom for photo taking. Then head to Bayon temple, Jayavarman’s state temple at the center of the city. Start exploring the lower levels with bas-relief carvings and gradually make our way to the inner walls where unfinished carvings were later completed during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. The structure of the giant faces of Bayon temple is staggering in its construction and most Angkor specialists agree that it is one of the finest examples of classic Khmer architecture. Its third level is stunning - 49 towers are adorned with 172 smiling faces of the omnipresent Avalokitesvara. Sixteen chapels inside the structure indicate its religious importance, while on the outer perimeter over 1,200 meters of exquisite bas-relief record scenes of daily life from 11th century Angkor. Move on to capture the nearby Baphuon temple and Elephant and Leper King Terraces. Conclude today’s tour with Preah Khan "Sacred Sword" until sunset. This temple wrapped by vines and trees hidden deep in the jungles of Angkor Archaeological Park. With many best spots to capture away from the crowd, especially at sunset, you will be sure to take and bring home breathtaking pictures with you. Dinner at local restaurant, before heading back to hotel for overnight.

Day 3

Date : 07/12/2019

Have an early breakfast at the hotel before departing at At 6.30 am, depart to Roluos village to catch a fascinating raw photos of a local market where the villagers exchange their commodities for just only few hours in the morning. This is the best time that you can possibly get the best real rural life and activities shots as you stroll around. Then move to the 9th century Bakong Temple, the largest and most interesting of the Roluos group temples with its outstanding architecture and picturesque moat. Experience the art of giving and earn some merit in Buddhist tradition by offering alms to Buddhist monks before exploring the temple. Next we travel out to a secluded village on Tonle Sap Great Lake, which is a little further away but which receives much fewer tourists. Set sail to explore the authentic stilted village and observe the life of the local fishermen and their families who live amongst the flooded mangrove forest. Enjoy the beautiful scenery dominated by the tranquillity of the lake. Tonle Sap Lake is one of the area’s unique geographical wonders, as it offers visitors insights into the centuries-old traditions of riparian life and the natural splendor of the country. The rich and varied plant, fish and bird life here makes this, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia, vital to Cambodia and the region. End the day with more countryside landscapes such as rice paddy fields, lotus flowers and finally capturing sunset view over Tonle Sap Lake and magnificent paddy fields from the top of Phnom Krom (Krom Hill), away from the crowd, before going back to town.
